Tiny Cities Made of Pebbles
Original Art. Watercolor and ink on cotton. Painting 6” x 8”.
Frame 12” x 14”
If islands floated in the sky, how would you get from one to the next? Helicopters? Flying cars? Hoverboards (like the ones in Back to the Future)? Would each one be so different from the next? Is one a hippy purist colony of organic farms and flowy cotton dresses that are an unofficial island uniform? Is another a more industrial scape with lots of exposed steel beams, concrete steps where everyone wears skin tight leather pants with combat boots and carries weapons? I'm not sure. What do you think?
But it's abstract. The meaning is not in what I see. It's about what you think, or rather how we think about it differently. Colors, shapes, tones and lines effect us individually. Abstraction is a solitary experience, not a collective one.
